As well as being a fun-filled event, the Chiddingfold Village Fete plays a vital role in supporting local organisations through fundraising. Despite the fete only being open for one afternoon a year, the impact of the funds raised by the event for local clubs, societies and charities is felt throughout the year.
Sponsorship is a key fundraising activity for the fete team and we are grateful that Rowallan has been a Gold Sponsor for several years. In the first of a series of Q&As with our Gold Sponsors, we asked Jason Corbett, founder and owner at Rowallan, a few questions to find out a bit more about Rowallan House Buying Agents and the connection the business has with the local community.
Q: Jason, tell us a little about Rowallan and what the business does.
A: Rowallan Buying Agents is a specialist property buying agency that acts exclusively for buyers, helping private clients, families and investors acquire residential and commercial properties, including off-market opportunities, across Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and surrounding prime UK markets. We provide discreet, high-level search, negotiation and acquisition support for busy clients who want expert guidance, local insight and access to properties they would struggle to secure alone.
Q: How long have you lived and worked in and around Chiddingfold?
A: I lived in Chiddingfold for six years but recently moved to Horsham. I am still in the village at least once a week on my search of the perfect house for our clients.
Q: What do you really like about Chiddingfold?
A: What I really love about Chiddingfold is that it still feels like a proper English village in the best possible sense - beautiful countryside, a wonderful village green, historic pubs and an independent café, but most of all a genuine sense of community. It has that rare balance of being peaceful and rural while still feeling vibrant and welcoming, which is exactly why so many people are drawn to it and why I enjoy helping clients find their place there.
Q: Why do you sponsor the Chidd Fete?
A: I believe in sponsoring the Chidd Fete because it’s exactly the kind of event that makes Chiddingfold such a special village, bringing people together and supporting the local community in a meaningful way. As someone who genuinely enjoys working in and around the area and think of Chidd as home, it’s important to me to support events where the funds go back into local organisations and initiatives that help keep that strong community spirit thriving.
Q: What is your favourite activity at the fete?
A: I don’t have one thing in particular - for me it is more about the community and helping fund the betterment of the village.
Q: What is your favourite place to visit in and around Chiddingfold?
A: Anywhere where there is a good circular walk with a pub. Buying houses in and around the area, it is important that I visit as many places as possible so that I get a deeper understanding of the locations.
